A smaller way to share an ID

Short IDs. Both ways.

Turn IDs into compact, URL-safe strings. Edit either side to convert instantly, right in your browser.

MongoDB ObjectId

The same 12 bytes, in 16 URL-safe characters.

A shorter UUID, with every bit preserved.

36 characters with dashes, or 32 hex characters

22 characters · oid64 format, not standard base64url

36 → 22 characters. Encoded successfully.

Integer

Whole numbers across JavaScript’s safe integer range.

0 to 9,007,199,254,740,991, without separators

1 to 9 characters · numeric base 64

7 → 4 characters. Encoded successfully.

BigInt

Larger integers, without losing precision.

Non-negative digits; an optional trailing n is accepted

Variable length · numeric base 64

19 → 11 characters. Encoded successfully.

The format matters.

ObjectIds use standard base64url. UUIDs preserve the oid64 final-byte layout and need an oid64-compatible decoder.

Integers use numeric base 64. Every converter uses A-Z a-z 0-9 - _, with no padding.
